Who We Are

Hurst1st.com is a local program focused on city-wide revitalization and restoration efforts. We create strategies at the neighborhood level to bring citizens, industry leaders, non-profits, and local government together in order to create voluntary, purposeful, and lasting economic growth and community improvement throughout the City of Hurst.

 Overview

Hurst1st.com is launching a city-wide residential and commercial revitalization plan that is based on real economic market realities. These efforts promote a collaborative public/private campaign to both promote local reinvestment and attract outside investment to create significant new value.

Our plan is to identify New Investment Zones for both commercial and residential revitalization. Through the creation of Community Revitalization Overlay Districts in these zones, as well as community outreach and engagement programs, our national, regional, and local partnership will work to transform individual commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods.

BUSINESS

Our vision and goal for new business development in the City of Hurst is to create a competitive marketing and economic investment campaign that messages to both local business owners and outside development and investor groups:

“We’re open for business!”

Our community revitalization program is interested in establishing a dialogue with local business owners, retail and shopping center landlords, landowners, and other stakeholders, who are interested in sharing collaborative ideas for creative master planning, rezoning and overlay districts, economic development incentives, private equity and debt sources, corporate philanthropic organizations, and resources for federal, state, and local funding mechanisms.

Veteran Initiatives

1.Veteran Solutions: Purpose driven campaign to educate, certify, and deploy skilled veterans into local community to renovate antiquated homes in underserved areas primed for revitalization.

2. Veteran Home and Business Ownership: Empower veteran investment programs to start and grow local businesses: renovation, building, and owning affordable housing and new business enterprises as they reintegrate into society.

This inclusive strategy and programmatic approach to economic development positively impacts the local economy, neighborhoods, HEB school district, and the individual veteran and their families in a manner that has measurable benefit for the community as a whole.
